Glinda Sue Waggener, 81, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, June 25, 2026 at TJ Health Columbia. She was born October 20, 1944 in Adair County to the late Harbert and Beatrice Compton Gowen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Garret Waggener and two sisters: Carolyn Sneed Samuell and Shirley Corbin.
She and her husband established and operated South Central Printing, where she was known as the “Matriarch of South Central Printing.”

Jane Moran Akin, 82, formerly of Columbia, KY died Sunday, June 21, 2026 at her home in Versailles, KY. She was born May 2, 1944 in Adair County to the late Maurice and Callie Frances Massie Moran.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Akin in 2025 and her brother, Maury Moran in 1976.
Jane retired as a Compliance Officer with the Kentucky E.P.A. and was a member of First Christian Church in Versailles.

Orene G. Tucker, 90, of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at her home. She was born in Jamestown, KY on July 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Edith Pearl (McFall) and Julian R. McWhorter.

Wayne Russell Werth, 56, of Breeding, KY passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born in Aberdeen Proven Ground, MD on December 28, 1969, to Thomas Henry Werth and Karin Held Werth.
Mr. Werth enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on the farm, working out at the gym and spending time with his family.

Dorothy Marie Holt, 81, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born on November 27, 1944 in Russell County, a daughter of the late Frank and Arvilla Higginbotham Garner.
Dorothy retired from the Dietary Department at Russell County Hospital. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandkids. Dorothy also enjoyed working with her flowers.

Wilburn "Tite" Cheatham, 94, of Campbellsville, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by the love and presence of his family. He was born on August 9, 1931 in Gadberry, KY, a son of the late Simon Leslie Cheatham and Annie Lizzie Bomar Cheatham Duncan.
He lived a life marked by dedicated service, strong community ties, and a deep commitment to his family and faith. A proud veteran, Wilburn served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Following his military service, he devoted himself to farming and worked at Morrison Sawmill, through which he built a legacy of hard work and steadfast dedication.
Wilburn was a cherished member of the New Zion Baptist Church. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, reflected in his longstanding service as Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer, and as the longest living Deacon of his congregation. Despite facing the challenges of a hearing deficit, he remained deeply involved in church activities as long as his health allowed, embodying a spirit of resilience and devotion that inspired many.
He found great joy in visiting farms and spending cherished time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Wilburn’s family was the cornerstone of his life, bringing him immense happiness and pride.

Kevel Grider, 94, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY. She was born on April 26, 1932 in Russell Springs, KY, the daughter of the late Ezra and Arizona West Stephens.
She was a retired cook in the Russell County School System and a long-time member of Main Street Church of God.

Bonnie Sue Acree, 70, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 21, 1956 in Kokomo, Indiana, a daughter of the late Olas and Mary Hanshew Edmonds.
Bonnie was a retired dietary assistant at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, having worked for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the New Victory Baptist Church. Bonnie had a very loving heart, and everyone loved and adored her. She deeply loved and cared for her cats, Scout and Scrappy.

Stella May Callahan, 89, of Knifley, KY, the daughter of the late Robert Perkins and Jessie Lewis Perkins, was born May 30, 1937 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Robinson Chapel Separate Baptist Church. Stella was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant and had worked for Summit Manor Nursing Home and Westlake Regional Hospital. She had a strong faith in God, loved attending church and helping with Vacation Bible School. Stella enjoyed gardening, flowers, and taking care of animals.
She united in marriage to James “Eddie” Callahan and he preceded her in death in 2008.

William “Billy” Murrell Willis, 67, of Columbia, KY died Monday, June 8, 2026 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born on February 27, 1959 in Adair County.
Billy graduated from Adair County High School and earned a master’s degree in Horticulture from Western Kentucky University. He was a life-long farmer and a member of Columbia United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” Chatman Willis.
