Arvil "Tim" Pike, 64, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Russell County Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1959 in Marion, Indiana, a son of the late Arvil Bueford Pike and Rachel Burton Pike of Russell Springs, KY (who survives).
 
Mr. Pike attended Good Tidings Baptist Church and was a retired machinist for the Tecumseh company

Connie Joella Hayes, 74, of Jamestown, KY passed from this life on Thursday, April 18, 2024 in Jamestown. She was born on April 28, 1949 in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Robert Chester and Dorothy Maxine (Hall) Crowell (who survives).

 

She was a proud daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and recent great-grandmother. Connie cared deeply for her friends and family members and enjoyed visiting with everyone. Catching up never took long as the conversations and memories always picked up where they left off.

Sheila Diane Coomer, 61, of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at T. J. Health Columbia. She was born in Adair County on July 16, 1962, to the late Jessie “Buddy” Branham and Rebecca A. Claywell Grant.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Branham and her stepfather, Elford Grant.
 
Diane was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time with her friend “Gunner” and her family and friends.

Daniel Ray Napier, 67, of Knifley, KY, the son of the late Ernest Adam and Ruby Napier, was born June 28, 1956 and departed this life on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Campbellsville at Taylor Regional Hospital. 
 
He was a former electrician technician for National Guardian Security Company.
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Gardner and two brothers: Magallen Napier and Randall Napier.

Larry Earl Glover, 76, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 surrounded by his family at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born to Earl and Georgia Glover on September 10, 1947.
 

Larry served his country in the US Army for 4 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool with his brothers in his backyard on Friday nights. Larry enjoyed being home with Linda and their 2 pups, Scooter and Toby, and watching a good UK ballgame. Larry professed his faith in Christ and was baptized recently along with his wife, Linda. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Laura Belle Underwood, 46, of Columbia, KY died Friday, April 26, 2024 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. She was born February 4, 1978 in Fayette County, a daughter of the late Catherine Hodge Berryman and Alfred Berryman of Lawrenceburg, KY (who survives).

 

She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Christopher Underwood. 
 

Laura was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ and a homemaker.

Charles Lee Irvin, 62, of Russell Springs, KY passed away at his home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born September 19, 1961 in Taylor County, KY, a son of Virginia Lawless Irvin and the late Arnett “Bud” Irvin.

 

Charles worked as a builder for many years with Cook’s Construction. He was an avid “gamer” and enjoyed watching old westerns on television. Charles attended Faith General Independent Church.

Connie Burress, 82, of the Milltown community of Adair County died Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 10:39 A.M. at the Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton, KY. She was born December 2, 1941 in Adair County to the late Richard and Elva Rogers Downey. 
 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Burress, her step-father, Horace Gabehart, and her brother, Larry Downey.

 

Connie was a faithful member of Milltown Church until her health failed, a member of the Portlandettes Homemaker Club, worked at Fruit of the Loom, and was a Ward Clerk at Westlake Regional Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colby Pickett; her sons-in-law: Charles Jones and Billy Grant; and the following siblings: Winfrey Coffey, Ray Coffey, Naomi Coffey, Gertrude Garrison and Kathleen Squires.
 
Wayne was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and working with the garden produce, being the best of any cutting off corn.

Mr. Burton enjoyed talking on his CB radio, where he was known as “Triple Nickel”, working on lawnmowers, and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard was retired from Lake Cumberland State Park and was an avid farmer. He had proclaimed his faith in Christ and was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church in Russell Springs.

Brandy Lynne “Bernie” Atkins, 48, of Russell Springs, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset, KY. She was born September 24, 1975 in Somerset, a daughter of Randall and Lynne Hines Polston.  
 
Along with being a registered nurse, Brandy had earned other titles such as “Chaos Coordinator” at the Old Homeplace and as the “free therapist”, always being willing to give advice, bend her ear or lend a shoulder to a friend or coworker in need.
 
She was fondly known as "Momma Brandy” to her biological children and to many children she “adopted” along the way. Brandy loved being around the water in the summer and taking big adventures with the kids. She was a shopaholic and loved her Mountain Dews and breakfast burritos (with salsa!).

Larry Dale Robertson, 63, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Somerset, KY. He was born July 16, 1960 in Russell Springs, a son of the late Arnold and Darlene Burton Robertson.  
 
Larry, known as “Puddin” to some, was quite a character. He enjoyed joking around and making people laugh. Larry was also affectionately called “Homelite” because of his genius-like mechanical abilities and knack for being able to work on any kind of engine. His brothers and sisters say he was “ornery”, but a kind, caring person with a big heart for helping others. Larry will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.

3 brothers: Freeman (Karen) Robertson, Charles Robertson, and Arnie (Kimberly) Robertson all of Russell Springs
2 sisters: Cathy (Lindon) Foley of Russell Springs and Tammie (Chris) Stapp of Jamestown

Karen Diane Bishop, 67, of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the University of Louisville Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born in Louisville, KY on October 28, 1956 to the late Fred Lawrence Lee, Sr. and Doris Jean Milburn Montgomery of Columbia, KY (who survives).

 

Ms. Bishop enjoyed doing yard work, flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Debra Lynn Tucker, 64, Jamestown, KY

 

Debra Lynn (ex-Hopper, ex-Mahan) Tucker, 64, originally from Jamestown, KY, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Fair Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born August 19, 1959 in Russell County, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Auda Mae Wright Tucker.

 

Debra eventually moved to Lexington and earned her master's degree in English at the University of Kentucky. She was at heart a story teller, an advocate for Appalachia, and the soul of every party. Debra embodied the dichotomy of modern feminism, a stay at home mother who went back to school for a masters degree; a published author who could croon karaoke or weave a yarn to her grandbabies. She had a passion for books and spent many years in bookstores, inspiring a love of literature in those around her. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving son, Michael Gregory Hopper.

Tracy York Murrell, 39, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, April 21, 2024 as the result of an automobile accident on Highway 55 in Taylor County. She was born October 9, 1984 in Adair County, KY to the late Phillip York and Pamela Kay Helm York. 

 

Tracy was a Home Resource Coordinator for Heritage Family Services in Campbellsville.
